Annual JULES meeting 22-23rd July 2019

The JULES Annual Meeting 2019 will be in July (from 9.00am on Monday 22 July to the afternoon of Tuesday 23 July), hosted by University of Edinburgh at the ECCI.

This will be followed by a JULES Training Session run by Carolina Duran Rojas on the Tuesday afternoon from 1-5pm.

Abstract submission deadline is Friday 24th May (see below for the form).

Dear all,

please find further information on venue, registration and training session for this year's JULES Annual Science Meeting in Edinburgh on 22 July and 23 July 2019. The meeting will run from 9am on Monday 22 July to the afternoon of Tuesday 23 July and will have both oral and poster sessions. If you are not attending the training session or the science management committee meeting, it will finish at noon on the Tuesday.

 

Venue

The JULES meeting will be held at the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI), which is housed in an 18th Century Old Royal High School at the University of Edinburgh.

 

The ECCI is approx. a 10 minute walk from Waverley train station. Further information on how to get here can be found on the ECCI website.

 

The meeting will be held in the Training and Skills room (first room on left as you enter through the main entrance).

 

Registration

To submit an abstract, please complete the attached form Microsoft Office document icon JULES_2019_abstract_submission.doc and return it to me by email (d.slevin@ed.ac.uk) by the deadline of Friday 24th May. There will be a small registration fee to cover lunches and refreshments which is payable online through the Edinburgh store. You can pay the registration fee at

The contents of your talk does not have to be a polished piece of work and can be a work in progress. The JULES community are very friendly and you can use this meeting as an opportunity to ask questions of other JULES users/developers.

 

JULES training session

Carolina Duran Rojas from the University of Exeter has kindly offered to deliver a JULES training session on the Tuesday afternoon from 1-5pm. You can register for the training session when you are completing the abstract submission form. It is important that you let us know in advance as attendees will have to obtain access to JASMIN, JULES code, etc beforehand and also for catering purposes as there will be a coffee/tea break during the course of the training session. Further information on what attendees will have to do in advance of the training session will be provided in due course.

 

Evening meal

On the Monday evening, there will be a meal at a restaurant in the city. Further details on the meal will be provided closer to the meeting. Note that the cost of the meal is not included in the meeting fee.
