Subject: [Jules] JULES meeting 14th-17th September
Dear JULES community,
The JULES conference will be held virtually from *Tuesday 14th to Friday 17th September 2021*.
To keep things sociable we will have a *morning session 9.30 to 11am* and an *afternoon session 1 to 3pm*. Note that we may shorten the meeting at either end, for example only having a morning session on Friday, depending on number of submissions.
Each day will cover a different theme (Updates, Vegetation, Biogeochemistry, Hydrology, etc.) and include oral presentations and open discussions.
To build the programme, please send the following information to Sarah Chadburn (s.e.chadburn@exeter.ac.uk) by *Friday 30th July*.
Name and Authors:
Theme(s): (choose from: Surface; Hydrology; Vegetation; Biogeochemistry; Biogenic fluxes; Evaluation (general); CABLE Science; JPEG updates)
Title:
Abstract (up to 300 words):
In addition, we will run a session for early career researchers such as PhD students who don't yet have results to present, but would like to introduce themselves to the community and meet others working on similar things. This may involve introducing yourself with one slide. Please make yourselves known to us if you are in this position, or if you know of/supervise such a person who might not be on the mailing list.
We will aim to get a draft timetable to you in early August.
Looking forward to seeing your work,
Sarah Chadburn, Rachael Turton and the Exeter JULES group

Subject: [Jules-users] Annual JULES conference - 14th to 17th September 2021
Dear JULES community,
The annual JULES conference will be hosted *virtually from Tuesday 14th to Friday 17th September 2021* by Sarah Chadburn and the University of Exeter JULES community. Please book these dates into your diary now.
We’re hoping to host a *morning session 9.30 to 11am* and an *afternoon session 1 to 3pm*, but exact timings will follow closer to the conference. Depending on the exact number of talks we may start later or finish earlier, ie. start Tuesday afternoon and/or close Thursday afternoon.
Details of submission for presentations will follow in June, with *title and abstract submission by the end of July*.
We’re also hoping to include some less formal time for new & potential community members to introduce themselves, so if you have a new PhD student who is hoping to use JULES, a staff member who hasn’t worked with JULES before, or perhaps a colleague you’re hoping to persuade to use JULES at some point in the future, please forward on the dates of the conference, encourage them to attend and get involved.
Best wishes,
Rachael & Sarah Chadburn
