The JULES Annual Science Meeting will be held 4th – 6th September 2024 at UKCEH Wallingford. It brings together the international JULES community to discuss all aspects of JULES modelling.

We invite the JULES community to present recent and ongoing work with the JULES model. There will also be presentations about JULES organisation and strategy and technical developments, as well as break out groups to discuss topics of interest.

Please register here for in person attendance. There is a registration fee of £49 to cover food and refreshments. Registration will close on 9th August 2024.

Online attendance will also be possible - there is no need to register to attend online. Details will be circulated before the meeting.

Abstracts

If you wish to present a talk please submit an abstract through the abstract submission form. Abstract submission is open until 31st July 2024.

We welcome talks about work in progress as well as finished projects, particularly talks by early career researchers. Please note that you can present online as well as in person.

Meeting date and time

The meeting will run from 12:00 4th September to 14:00 6th September.

SciApps and JLMP meetings will be on the morning of 4th September.

You can reach UK CEH Wallingford by car or public transport. A limited number of electric vehicle charging points are available, please let us know if you would like to use one.

Thames Travel operate a frequent bus service (X40) between Oxford and Reading, stopping near to CEH Wallingford site in Crowmarsh Gifford. See the River Rapids X40 timetable and map. When travelling from Oxford, alight at Crowmarsh Gifford, opp Crowmarsh Church (on The Street) and walk about 7 mins to UK CEH Wallingford site. When travelling from Reading, use the bus stop opposite Crowmarsh Gifford Village Hall (on Benson Lane) in Crowmarsh Gifford and walk about 4 mins to CEH Wallingford.

There is also the 33 bus service from Didcot Parkway railway station to Wallingford Town Centre (15 min walk to UK CEH). See the 33 bus timetable and map.

Accommodation

There are accommodation options within Wallingford that are within easy walk of the UKCEH site. These include The George Hotel, The Town Arms, The Coachmakers Arms and The Royal. For a larger selection of rooms, Shillingford Bridge Hotel is also within 10 minutes drive of the UKCEH site and accessible via the X40 bus.

Otherwise, there are many food options in Wallingford.
